Hello blog readers! So I definitely sat at my computer for a solid 15 minutes deciding on what "cool" things to say about myself, like all of the awesome bloggers do, but after coming up with blanks...I decided I should probably get the ball rolling, so this is me "winging it." Bear with me. I never thought I would be one to blog, so here's to getting out there and trying new things!
So for starters, I'll tell you all a little something about me, because I'm sure you're dying to know! My name is Brianna! I am originally from Buffalo, New York and currently live in Dallas, Texas. If you ever see a "y'all" in here, you can thank my 10 years of living in the lone star state for that. I am the daughter to two amazing parents and am lucky enough to be a big sister to Brooke, who is one of my best friends, and my little man, Lenny, who is my mini-me. I am almost halfway done with my sophomore year at The University of Arkansas (WOO PIG SOOIE, AM I RIGHT?) and am majoring in International Relations and Spanish. I'm hoping to add another major, European Studies, but I've heard I'm crazy a few too many times, so we'll see if that works out. Instead of finishing up the year in Fayetteville, I'll actually be finishing my sophomore year across the world in Granada, Spain. YAY! It's been about ten years since I've been to Europe so to say I'm excited to go back, would be an understatement.
Before I called Dallas my home, I lived in Vienna, Austria for four years and I would definitely say that is the cause of my travel bug. Sure, I was young, but I could still tell you memories of driving to Hungary for a cannoli from one of the cutest bakeries you've ever seen, going to Mallorca, Spain for a casual trip to a water park, and going to see Mickey and Minnie in Disneyland Paris. Yup, they're stuck with me for good. Don't get me wrong, I love the United States, but there is something about getting out of your shell and comfort zone that I've always loved. Getting to see the way other people live their day to day lives and taking a dive into their world and culture is just the coolest thing. I'm hoping this blog will be a way for my family and friends to keep up with my semester while I'm gone, but I also hope it will be something for me to look back on once I come back to the states, which will come faster than I expect.
With that being said, I think that's a wrap for the first blog post. WOOHOO! Hopefully that was a little more exciting than y'all (see, there it is) were thinking it would be. Feel free to come check this out whenever you please and see what I'll be doing for the next six months!
Here's a little slideshow for your enjoyment featuring some of my favorite people and memories.
